Red Technology has partnered with the National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) to deliver a major digital transformation: unifying three previously separate websites—NAPIT Corporate, Direct, and Training — into a single, intelligent ecommerce site.

Built on Red’s flexible and scalable tradeit platform, the new site supports a wide range of user needs: from purchasing membership plans and booking complex training courses to ordering physical and digital products—all within one seamless experience. This is not just a shopfront. The site functions as a full-service membership, compliance, training, and ecommerce portal designed for their users, with powerful functionality like:

• Simple pricing and product visibility
• Real-time training availability and candidate-level data capture
• Mixed-basket checkout supporting multiple payment types and logic
• Full integration with Sage Intacct, Internal ERP, Trust Payments, VitalSource, Bottomline PTX and others

1. Mixed Basket Logic with Variable Payment Rules

Users can combine training courses, membership purchases, and physical/digital products in a single checkout—each governed by different payment rules. For example:

• Products and near-term training must be paid in full
• Membership and longer-term courses can be secured with a deposit and follow-up Direct Debit payments
• The system auto-calculates payment schedules based on training dates and some rules NAPIT sets, and displays them in the storefront. This is then passed to Bottomline PTX to handle recurring payments.

2. Dynamic Training Engine with Capacity Logic

Training courses often have a different number of spaces available for training vs. assessments (e.g., 12 learners/day for 4 days but only 4 assessments per day). The platform:

• Prevents overbooking of assessments
• Suggests alternate dates with number of available places
• Allows for candidate-level booking, including name, email, and DOB capture

3. Account Creation and Management

• Members and non-members can both create accounts
• Member type dictates access, pricing, prerequisite requirements, and eligibility for training offers

4. Digital Fulfilment

For digital products, Red developed functionality to automatically include unique download codes and links in confirmation emails, ensuring secure and user-friendly access via integration with Vital Source.
